I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
