It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's difficult for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven world titles have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed I've had no rhythm completely," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed consideration of ending her career, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as captain.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
